Common injuries we treat at Complete Care in Colonialtown

Neck pain and whiplash are among the most common injuries following rear-end and side-impact collisions.

The sudden force of a crash can strain the muscles, ligaments, and tendons supporting the cervical spine, leading to pain, stiffness, headaches, and limited range of motion.

Symptoms don’t always appear immediately and may worsen over the hours or days after an accident.

The force of an accident can lead to herniated discs, muscle spasms, ligament injuries, and spinal misalignment.

Back pain may develop gradually and can be accompanied by numbness, tingling, or radiating pain into the arms or legs if spinal nerves become irritated.

Shoulder, knee, hip, and other joint injuries commonly occur when patients brace for impact or experience direct trauma during a collision.

These injuries may include:

  • Rotator cuff injuries
  • ACL and MCL tears
  • Meniscus injuries
  • Joint sprains
  • Soft tissue damage

Without proper evaluation, joint injuries can continue to worsen over time.

Headaches, dizziness, memory problems, and balance issues may develop after whiplash or head trauma, even if you didn’t lose consciousness.

These symptoms can indicate a concussion or other traumatic brain injury and should be evaluated promptly to determine the appropriate next steps in your care.

When spinal nerves become compressed or irritated following an accident, pain can travel from the neck or lower back into the shoulders, arms, hips, or legs.

These symptoms may include:

  • Burning pain
  • Tingling
  • Numbness
  • Weakness
  • Sciatica-like symptoms

Early evaluation can help identify the underlying cause before symptoms become more severe.

Soft tissue injuries affect muscles, ligaments, and tendons throughout the body.

They often result from the sudden forces involved in auto accidents and slip-and-fall injuries and may cause:

  • Swelling
  • Tenderness
  • Muscle spasms
  • Limited mobility
  • Persistent pain

Because these injuries aren’t always visible on X-rays, additional evaluation or diagnostic imaging may be recommended when medically necessary.

Wrist and hand injuries frequently occur when drivers grip the steering wheel during impact or instinctively brace themselves during a fall.

Common injuries include:

  • Sprains
  • Tendon injuries
  • Ligament damage
  • Carpal tunnel symptoms aggravated by trauma

Ankle and foot injuries are common in many accidents.

Patients may experience:

  • Sprains
  • Ligament injuries
  • Joint pain
  • Difficulty walking

Prompt diagnosis helps ensure these injuries don’t interfere with long-term mobility.

The emotional effects of an accident can be just as challenging as the physical injuries.

Anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and emotional distress can affect sleep, concentration, relationships, and overall recovery.

Complete Care offers trauma-informed mental health services through telehealth to support your emotional well-being as part of your personalized recovery plan.

Services at Complete Care in Colonialtown

Walk in any day the clinic is open, or request an appointment online. Our providers perform a comprehensive evaluation, review your accident history, assess your symptoms, and create a personalized recovery plan before you leave.

Because Florida’s PIP law requires you to receive medical evaluation within 14 days of an auto accident, same-day appointments help you begin treatment quickly, start your personalized recovery plan, and protect your insurance benefits.

Complete Care in Colonialtown offers on-site diagnostic imaging, including digital X-rays, to help quickly identify fractures and other injuries.

When medically necessary, patients also have access to advanced MRI services within the Complete Care network to evaluate soft tissue injuries, herniated discs, and other conditions that may not appear on an X-ray.

Fast, accurate imaging allows treatment to begin sooner and helps your care team develop the most appropriate recovery plan.

Our chiropractic care team provides hands-on spinal adjustments, manual therapy, and targeted treatment to relieve pain, improve mobility, and address neck, back, and joint injuries following an auto accident or slip-and-fall injury.

Treatment is always personalized based on your symptoms, examination findings, and recovery goals.

Recovery is about more than relieving pain.

Our injury care and rehabilitation team develops individualized treatment plans designed to rebuild strength, restore mobility, and improve function through an active recovery approach.

Rather than simply treating symptoms, we help patients regain the confidence and independence needed to return to work, family activities, and everyday life.

For injuries involving the spine, joints, and extremities, our spine and orthopedic providers offer comprehensive evaluation and treatment ranging from conservative care to surgical coordination when appropriate.

Our personalized, coordinated approach allows patients to access specialty care without having to navigate multiple providers on their own.

If ongoing pain is limiting your progress, our interventional pain management team offers advanced, minimally invasive treatment options to help improve comfort and support healing.

Depending on your condition, your provider may recommend procedures such as epidural steroid injections, nerve blocks, or trigger point injections as part of a comprehensive recovery plan designed to help you move forward.

Recovering from an accident can affect both your physical and emotional well-being.

Complete Care offers compassionate mental health support through convenient telehealth appointments for patients coping with anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, or other emotional challenges related to their injury.

When appropriate, behavioral health services are integrated into your overall recovery plan to support healing at every stage.

When an office visit isn’t practical, telemedicine gives you convenient access to a licensed provider from wherever you are in Florida.

Virtual appointments allow you to discuss symptoms, review your progress, receive follow-up care, and stay connected with your care team while continuing your recovery plan.

Questions about insurance shouldn’t stand in the way of getting care.

Our team helps patients understand their Florida Personal Injury Protection (PIP) benefits, coordinates required documentation, and works with insurance carriers and personal injury attorneys throughout the claims process.

By handling the administrative details, we make it easier for you to focus on your recovery.
