Injuries and symptoms we treat

Neck and back pain are among the most common complaints following a car accident or slip-and-fall. The sudden force of a collision can cause whiplash, muscle strain, ligament damage, and nerve compression in the cervical and lumbar spine.

Symptoms may develop immediately or appear in the hours and days after the accident.

The spine is particularly vulnerable during a collision.

Herniated discs, muscle spasms, and spinal misalignment can result from the impact forces involved in auto accidents and falls — causing pain, stiffness, and in some cases radiating nerve symptoms that affect the arms or legs.

Shoulder and arm pain after an accident often results from direct impact, seatbelt forces, or bracing against the steering wheel at the moment of collision.

Muscle strains, rotator cuff injuries, and nerve compression are common and may not fully present until the days following the accident.

Post-accident headaches are frequently triggered by whiplash, concussion, or head trauma and can range from tension-type headaches to debilitating migraines.

Headaches that originate at the base of the skull and worsen with movement are a common sign of cervical spine or neurological involvement.

Ligament sprains and muscle strains occur when the body is forced beyond its normal range of motion during impact.

These soft tissue injuries can affect the neck, back, shoulders, knees, and ankles — and often cause swelling, tenderness, and reduced mobility that develops gradually after the accident.

The knees and joints are vulnerable during a collision, especially when the knee strikes the dashboard or door panel.

Injuries can include ACL and MCL tears, meniscus damage, and labral cartilage injuries — conditions that may cause pain, swelling, and instability that worsen with activity.

Wrist and hand injuries commonly result from gripping the steering wheel at the moment of impact or bracing against the dashboard.

These injuries can include fractures, sprains, ligament tears, tendon damage, and carpal tunnel syndrome aggravated by trauma.

The feet and ankles are often pressed against the floor pedals during a collision, exposing them to significant force.

Sprains, fractures, ligament tears, and joint pain can result — and are frequently overlooked when more obvious injuries are also present.

The psychological impact of an accident is recognized as a part of injury recovery. Anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and stress are common following traumatic incidents and can affect sleep, daily function, and the pace of physical recovery.

Complete Care’s licensed counselors provide trauma-informed mental health support via telehealth, integrated into your overall care plan.
