Mia Grill

The next great local restaurant being featured in the Complete Care Keep it Local campaign is the family owned and operated Mia Grill in Orlando.

You may know them as A tu Gusto. Mia Grill was right in the middle of an ownership change and a new name when the lock down orders were issued. They have been able to get their name changed in some places but not yet in others as, like so many others we have talked to, their business has all but disappeared since the shut down.

Opened in 2019, Mia Grill features Venezuelan food that is available through carry-out and delivery through the typical delivery apps. Losing more than 50% of their sales has forced them to furlough most of their employees to be able to survive. The restaurant is run now only by family members who are all pitching in to do what they can to keep the restaurant alive until business can return to somewhat normal.

Known for their Arepas and their Patacon, Mia Grill features food from Venezuela as well as other regions known for great flavors. For less than $5, you can get a Colombian hot dog. What is a Colombian hot dog? It's a hot dog filled with cheese, garlic sauce, mayo, ketchup, pineapple sauce, and grated potatoes. They had me at filled with cheese, but the rest of it added is just that much better.

Mia Grill is able to provide catering for both offices and home orders with 48 hours notice. You can call them for a carry-out order and they have delivery options through Doordash (they are still listed as A tu Gusto on the app) for those looking to have food delivered. If you are in the Metro West area and looking for a small business to support during this time, Mia Grill is a great choice.
