5 Cooking Shows to Stream While Locked Down
Like so many other parts of the country, counties in Florida are issuing orders to citizens to remain at home as much as possible to prevent the spread of that virus who's name shall not be named here. While Complete Care and our clinics remain open as an essential service needed to continue treating our injured patients, many other businesses and places of work are now shut down. This leaves a lot of time on people's hands (including some of us at Complete Care who are not clinical staff like the guy writing this).
Since so many of us are going to be able to take a deep dive in to our streaming libraries like we never have before, I thought I'd be helpful and point out some options you might enjoy during this time. I for one love cooking shows and being locked down gives me nothing but time to try out some new things in the kitchen so for inspiration, I found some new cooking shows I had not watched before. You may enjoy them too.
5 Cooking Shows to Stream While Locked Down
Taco Chronicles
Description: Many of the most popular taco styles have long, rich, little-known histories. Explore some of them in this eye-opening, mouth-watering food adventure.
Who doesn't love a good taco? We all love them. What is most fascinating about this show was how little I apparently knew about tacos and how many different types and styles of taco exist in this world. This is a great show for the whole family that really explores different cultures and how we are all united together over one fantastic food item, the taco!
The Chef Show
Description: Writer, director and food enthusiast Jon Favreau and chef Roy Choi explore food in and out of the kitchen with accomplished chefs and celebrity friends.
I'd ask if you ever saw the movie, Chef, by Jon Favreau, but judging by the box office results, you haven't, so I won't. Anyway, it was a movie in 2014 about...a Chef. I won't bore you with the details but doing the movie inspired Jon to do more in the kitchen. The Chef Show is a fun look at food with Jon and a bunch of celebrities. It's a pretty simple concept and it works well. What makes it work? The food. They go and meet some amazing chefs who are making some fantastic food. You'll be very hungry after watching a few episodes of this show.
The Final Table
Description: Teams of elite chefs vie to impress the world's toughest palates as they whip up iconic dishes from nine nations in this star-packed competition.
If you are a fan of cooking shows, you have no doubt watched at least one of the many cooking competitions that are our there like Top Chef or Chopped. The Final Table will be familiar to you in that people cook for judges and teams are eliminated one by one until there is a champion. They didn't reinvent the wheel with this show but you'll want to watch it because these chefs are talented and the meals they make are incredible. Don't miss this one.
Sugar Rush
Description: Time's the most important ingredient as teams race against the clock - and each other - to bake up the best-tasting sweets.
Let's get that sweet tooth going! This is another competition show but based on everyone's favorite part of the meal, dessert. The talented bakers on this show focus on desserts of all types. On other dessert challenge shows you might see people who do cakes, or who do cupcakes, or who do pies. On this show, they do it all. These chefs are expected to be able to execute any type of dessert and they are racing against the clock to do it. You'll be amazed at their talent and artistry.
Zumbo's Just Desserts
Description: Renowned dessert wizard Adriano Zumbo puts skilled amateur cooks to the test in this tense competition with a $100,000 prize.
It's a shame this is a written piece or I could really show off my Australian accent that is totally on point. Oh well. You'll just have to trust me but seriously, it's ripper. Zumbo's Just Desserts in an Australian dessert competition featuring amateur chefs. I always love the shows with people who are home cooks getting a chance to show off their amazing talent. This show is one of those chances. The challenges these amateurs complete are pretty incredible and will leave you both in awe, and hungry for dessert.
